// 30 days running challenge - day 7//

today only 3.8 km - 27 min - 06:58/km pace …quite bad…

day 7:

WHO SUPPORTS YOU THE MOST WITH YOUR RUNNING GOALS AND WHY DO YOU PICK THEM?

me, myself and I :) running does not take (yet!) such a part in my life to push other to support me. Furthermore I do not share my running goals as i do with my work goal (stealing all the support available^^)

Again: I take very seriously the benefits and gifts that running gives me, but not “numbers” that would transform my “can-want” in a “should!”

6. To you, what’s the hardest thing about running?

Don’t take it too seriously, avoid that point where if I skip a planned run session, I get anxious. I don’t want running to be a must, feeding some bad thoughts, new obsessions. I don’t want running to be in the realm of my shoulda-gotta, not a second job.

I want running to be something to rely on, always there the next time even when for some reasons (a good lazy day sometimes, that’s fine) I can’t be on the street.

What’s your favorite distance to run or race and why?

It is ALWAYS the longest I am able to run :)

One year ago it was a 10k.

Now, I started running again outdoor after a treadmill quite gentle training (and weakening!) during the winter and I still can’t go beyond 5 k, my temporary fav distance now…

I am at day 4 (last run session yesterday) but I scooped this nice challenge only today.
Therefore I answer to the first 4 questions :)
1. When did you start running and why?
I started when I was 17, only to lose weight, without enjoying the *magic*. I started running again in April 2011. In the last 15 months, I have never let running for more than 10 days. No matter how busy or where in the world.  Between ups and downs of consistency. Mostly with the weight-loss motivation. Now I started training again with a plus, a gift for myself: my first race.
2. Why did you continue to run?
I wannabe a runner. Not someone running to lose weight. I want running to be a strong staple in my healthy life, long term, no more weight-related, evolution :) It is the best opportunity I know to connect with my body. It is the safest place I know on the Earth, after praying.

3.What ultimate running goal would you like to accomplish?
Generically, run long life, no matter what. As breathing: without condition or excuses. BE FAITHFUL to running. Specifically a 5 k next autumn. I can cover 5 k now, but too slowly. I plan a “major” race within the first half of 2013 as well, one of those capital-cities-race. I still haven’t a clear idea:) And maybe I will be able to cover 10 k before that date.

4. Tell us about your first race or when you plan to start!
As I wrote, a 5k in late september/beginning of october. I will decide WHERE accordingly to WHERE I’ll be ^^ (still don’t know). At the best —- > http://www.thefixevents.com/content/run-richmond-park-5k-10k-race-7-2012/
